Without a powered brushbar the suction of the vacuum makes it difficult move around on carpeting. You can lower the suction power to help reduce the friction but them to cleaning power is also diminished. A few other negatives are the replacement bags can be expensive and there is no way to attach the extra attachments to the vacuum so they can get lost easily. The Electrolux UltraSilencer Green vacuum had many positive reviews and we recommend it if you have mostly hard flooring surfaces in your house with only a few low pile throw rugs and you are looking for a quiet canister style vacuum.
